The LunchBots Story
LunchBots was born because I believe that plastic is toxic – for our bodies and for our planet. I’m convinced that it is unhealthy to store food in plastic.
Like many parents I pack a healthy lunch for my kids each school day. The more I learned about plastics and the chemicals they leach, the more concerned I became about using it, especially for storing food. I decided to eliminate all plastic from my kids' lunches and buy non-plastic containers to pack their food. Stainless steel food containers were the best alternative. Stainless steel has been used for decades to store food safely. I searched local stores and online and was surprised because I couldn't find anything. I felt strongly enough about this need to create a product myself.
That's why LunchBots was born – to create safe, usable, and fun containers both parents and kids would love.
Stainless Steel
Stainless steel is one of the safest materials for food storage and handling. It is an alloy made from natural elements: iron ore, chromium, silicon, nickel, carbon, nitrogen, and manganese. The final metal has differing properties depending on varying amounts of these elements.
LunchBots are manufactured from high-quality, food grade Type 304 stainless steel. Stainless steel has great resistance to stain or rust due to its chromium content making it the material of choice for food processing, dairy and brewing. Stainless steel is easy to clean, durable, and sanitary.
